Our Breeding History and Health Issues
Over ten years ago I began raising smooth dachshunds as a hobby. Over the years, with good mentors, a desire to learn and MANY poor choices and set-backs, I began reaping the rewards of patience, good investment, carefully planned breedings, and continual learning about the breed. Within the last 3 years my interests have turned to seriously exhibiting miniature longhair dachshunds. What started as a one person hobby ten years ago has now turned into a serious ambition at two separate households.
We lost both of our first dachshunds (Schwarzy and Cleo) to old age (both were 16) in 2006 along with our foundation bitch for our longhair program (she was far too young at the age of 6). It was a tragic loss in all cases and 2006 has been a very difficult year for us. Our thanks to all of our dachshund friends who have supported us through these losses.
Our current goals are to produce nice typey cream longhairs whether they be cream, cream brindle or black/cream. Our foundation bitch, Devoncream Wispa N Breeze provided us three wonderful litters and we hope to continue building our line with the pups from these breedings. Wispa was a one of a kind lady and though we lost her in early 2006 far before her time, we know her legacy will live on in her offspring. We would like to thank breeder Lesley Brown of Devon, England for allowing us to own Wispa!
I want to thank Paula Thomson of Pamadron for sending us our beautiful double dapple bitch, Smudge, and Ursula Ross of Taxvalpar for our wonderful chocolate/tan gentleman "JJ". Thanks to Sarah Brook of Langlichhund for sending us our first Can. Champion Langlichhund Coco Chanel, a beautiful red bitch.
